The Dream Pilot was intiated just prior to the establishment of Project 14 when things started coming together. For that reason, it is included in the Project 14 series. ---------------------------
Project 14: Dreampilot is a project toward the establishment of an ultimate Dream Interaction Laboratory. It is part of the Cognitive Science Systems Project. Project 14 has a multi-disciplinary goal in the meld of theory and practice in humanistic, transpersonal, organizational, social transformation, consciousness and spirituality. The areas of concentration are investigation of bias (ethics), in conjunction with epistemology, criteria selection and dreamwork praxis. What would the project do? Project 14: Dreampilot is assembling defining factors in what or which dreamwork could be implemented within the scientific enterprise. Thereby, the project is first an analysis of dreamwork research not an analysis of dreams. The Maimonides Dream Laboratory and the Ganzfeld and Autoganzfeld Experiments are the inspirations and protocols. What is happening first? There is a problem internal to dreamwork that needs to be addressed first to establish a basis for the project. The following objection has been registered by R. L. Van de Castle a psychologist with a background in dream research and dream telepathy. "Subsequently, Van de Castle (1989) expressed particular distress by the failure of replication studies to adhere to Maimonides research protocols." (Ullman et al., 2000) It has been noted, by Ullman et al., perhaps the academic community has shown bias in evaluation of the Maimonides dreamwork. In that there may be ethical questions about the detractors of the inspirations and protocols, there is a call for further research in two congruent steps: 1.) investigation of areas of bias, epistemology and criteria selection then 2.) a long look at praxis. What is the basis for the project? Project 14: Dreampilot feels that there is a basis for investigation, research and epistemology. That basis needs to be shown first in the Maimonides et al. research protocols. "Perhaps our data base and our research protocols will be a continuing source of material for serious researchers who are attempting to encompass the study of anomalous phenomena within the scientific enterprise." Krippner, S. (1993) "The Maimonides ESP-dream studies." Durham, NC: The Journal of Parapsychology. Several researchable questions exist for the Project 14: Dreampilot Analysis project to consider. "Given the diametrically opposed assessments of the Maimonides dream experiments, and setting aside momentarily the manifest malice in some of them, which side is correct? Equally disconcerting, how is one to tell? What criteria should govern?" (Ullman, 2000) These questions are seen as bias, epistemology and criteria selection, the three concentrations of Project 14: Dreampilot work Analysis. In the sense of investigation of bias, Project 14: Dreampilot is a project with a strong and aggressive ethics imperative. What is the goal of the project? The goal of a pilot analysis would be to expand the three concentrations of bias, epistemology and criteria selection 1.) to determine the relevant researchable questions for subsequent replication studies, 2.) to identify calumniators, lampooners, traducers, libelers and dawpluckers, 3.) to identify research criteria, 4.) to propose methodology, research design, data analysis formats, falsifiabilty protocols and ways to determine results. A second part of Project 14: Dreampilot is to look at transformative praxis (Lucid Native American Pehuenche Mapuche Dreamwork) as the initial sets of questions are addressed in bias, epistemology and criteria selection. The project conducts offensive and aggressive dreamwork praxis as defined on the other project websites particularly http://project14.bravehost.com . Project 14: Dreampilot is assembling a body of knowledge on project websites and in coursework at Harvard University (h2o) that is dedicated to a continuous cycle in theory, method, practice, peer review, reflection, data analysis and revision fostering learning in the three concentrations of bias, epistemology and criteria selection in Mapuche dreamwork. A third part of Project 14: Dreampilot is to encourage a community of scholars in awareness of bias, epistemology and criteria selection in dreamwork. Just as Project 14: Dreampilot has strong ethical interests, in a sense Project 14: Drempilot is an offensive, activist, human rights and/or public relations organization. Project 14: Dreampilot takes an aggressive stand. Thereby that declared bias is intentional and calculated. Already involved are scholars from The Institute of Medicine and Advanced behavioral Technology in Ciudad Juarez, Mexico; and Harvard University (h2o Project). Project 14: Dreamlab intends to advance and bind those and other institutional relations. Are there future benefits? It is important to state that while Project 14: Dreamlab an exercise in academic enterprise, Project 14: Dreampilot would also foster lasting and permanent receiver relationships (recipient of funds, status and recognition) that are in the academic, financial foundation and publications communities. In that interest a new Dream Interaction Laboratory could be created once the defining factors are assembled, proposed and thoroughly funded. --------------------------------- Overall: Project 14: Dreampilot reinforces a multi-disciplinary humanist mission to investigate researchable questions for bias, epistemology and criteria selection and support the mission in humanistic, transpersonal, organizational, social transformation, consciousness and spirituality. Project 14: Dreampilot will generate its financial support. That means that Project 14: Dreampilot would receive and be in a postion to teach other recipients of funds and recognition once the learning curve is accomplished. including the timing of all project landmarks Generally, Project 14: Dreampilot is divided into sections of two years duration each and are identified as 1.) investigation of bias, epistemology and criteria selection, 2.) determination of relevant researchable questions for subsequent replication studies, 3.) identification of the calumniators of bias and identify ethical issues, 4.) identification of research criteria and 5.) to design, propose and define methodology, research design, data analysis formats, falsifiabilty and ways to determine results. 6.) The sixth section would be to assemble data and arrange publication strategy to demonstrate receiver ability. Throughout a year long process, dreamwork praxis would be conducted as an integral part of the process and support would be sought. There would be solid, full and concrete proposals for calls for further research. In the ultimate, strategic planning for the ultimate Dream Interaction Laboratory would be landmarked.
